I don’t know about you, but I love a good writing prompt. I can’t really tell you how many of them actually turned into larger ideas that I ran with, but all of them got my imagination going, even if it was only for a few pages.
I get my writing prompts from a lot of different places: Pinterest, the Interwebs, creative writing books, you name it. Writing prompts force you to write outside of your normal comfort zone, getting your brain churning in a direction it normally wouldn’t go.
Below are five writing prompts to get you started. Whether you write a paragraph, 5,000 words, or something much larger, use the prompts to check out an unexplored area of your creative space. You might be surprised what you’ll find.
